What We Are Doing About Technology

As the tourist market expands, the number of jobs increase, and with this the need for computer literacy. In t he 21st century, computer literacy is a skill which is valued almost as highly as standard literacy! It is therefore a huge advantage to learn the basics of computer use, and this is something which I can help with. By sharing their knowledge of IT with students and teachers alike, It will increase the future prospects of each individual I help. Just like children throughout the world, Ghanaian children are fascinated by computers and eager to learn how to use them. Teaching such a useful skill is invaluable, both to individuals and the communities they live in. From developing a better understanding of computers, job opportunities which would not previously have been available present themselves. With IT skills, children also find themselves in a position where they can benefit from all that the worldwide web has to offer. My knowledge is needed to help teach very basic computer programs like Word, Excel, Website Building and Internet Safety also, I will develop databases and assist with any maintenance work, which have full record of student’s Information, Marks, Attendance, and also Teaching Guide for Teachers.

GCC aims to achieve the following through its projects

  • Help children get to a level where they are comfortable with the WIMP (Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointers) user interface prevalent in desktop computers today.
  • Introduce children to word processing using a computer to a standard where they are comfortable and familiar with its usages and function as opposed to using a typewriter.
  • Develop internet skills and understanding to a level where children have a basic understanding of how the internet works, and how to exploit it for their benefit, safely and to positively influence their lives.
  • We also prepare individuals traveling outside Ghana to Europe or North America gets them computer literacy ready.

GCC is devoted to the education and mentoring of youth, who are willing and ready to learn. We also want to offer youths with an avenue that otherwise will be inaccessible.  GCC believe in the potential of youths aided with the ability and knowledge of informational technology. Take some time review our upcoming projects and activities underway.
